What does a 4×32 scope mean?
4×32 Scope

A 4×32 would be a fixed 4x magnification. The 32 in this instance is just the diameter of the forward end of the sight. The size of an object is inversely proportional to the distance, so increasing the size of the object by 4x should increase the distance you can accurately view the object by 4x.

Is a 4×32 scope good for an air rifle?
4x is more than adequate for airgun ranges , 6 or 8x times is ideal . For some though unless you can see the grain on the paper or a flea on the rabbit it ain’t good enough. I used to engage targets with marksman proficiency up to 500 meters and further with a humble 4x optic, it’s plenty.
